Iran, Germany sign MoU on archeology

Iran and Germany signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation on archeology and research.

Iranian Research Center for Cultural Heritage and Tourism and German University of Tubingen signed the document to work on exchanging students for long-term and short-term plans, research, archeology, preservation and restoration of archeological sites, history, linguistics, literature, anthropology, holding joint meetings, training workshops and exhibitions.

A monitoring group whose members are selected both from the two sides would control implementation of the deal. The group would investigate results of the research and training activities annually.

None of the members of the group are allowed to interfere in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s sovereignty rules on the activities.

The MoU has been signed for five years, and would be extended for other five-year terms automatically, unless one of the sides inform the other one of its annulment in written, and the MoU would be annulled after six months.
